Your choices
Signing in without “Keep me signed in” uses a browser-session cookie; the server still sets an expiry. Selecting “Keep me signed in for 30 days” explicitly requests a persistent login. The theme cookie is set when you choose light or dark mode and lasts for the browser session. The URL supplies the language, so we do not need a language-preference cookie. You can remove cookies and site storage in your browser. Blocking essential cookies prevents sign-in and verification. Browser session restore may preserve session cookies or tabs after closing the browser; sign out and clear site data on shared devices.
Third-party features
Google sign-in, Google address/maps assistance and payment-provider pages may process data or use their own storage when those services are used. The providers’ notices apply to those services. If optional analytics, advertising or other non-essential terminal storage is introduced, it must remain off until any legally required consent is obtained, with an equally accessible refusal and withdrawal choice.
- fleetmetrics_client_session / fleetmetrics_session
- Keeps the customer or fleet account authenticated. First-party, HttpOnly, Secure on production HTTPS and SameSite=Lax.Browser session unless you select 30-day login. Server validity: 1 day for an ordinary unremembered login; up to 14 days for flows without a persistence choice; 30 days when remembered. Signing out revokes the current session.
- fm_signup_browser
- Binds an email verification attempt to the browser that requested it. Contains a random identifier, not your email or code.Up to 20 minutes. First-party, HttpOnly, Secure in production and SameSite=Strict.
- fleetmetrics_google_transaction
- Protects the Google login redirect and verifies that its response belongs to your browser. Set only when Google login is requested.Up to 10 minutes; cleared on callback. HttpOnly, Secure in production, SameSite=Lax; limited to /api/auth/google.
- fm_customer_theme
- Remembers the light or dark appearance you selected across FleetMetrics customer pages and storefront subdomains.Browser session. Older persistent values are shortened when the customer interface loads.
- sessionStorage: fleetmetrics:renter-form:v1:*
- Keeps an unfinished renter form in the current tab to avoid losing entered details.Cleared after submission or sign-out. Drafts older than 24 hours are discarded on reading and during active-page cleanup; closing the tab normally clears sessionStorage. Suspended tabs are checked when they resume.
- sessionStorage: fleetmetrics-payment-wait:*
- Restores the status of a requested payment after returning from the provider. It does not contain card details.Current tab; cleared when the flow finishes or times out. Markers older than 2 hours are rejected when read.
- sessionStorage: fleetmetrics:fiscal-complete:* / fleetmetrics:fiscal-focus:*
- Prevents duplicate completion notices and repeated refreshes in the fleet document workflow.Current tab session.
